Cement the Deal

Many years ago, a man by the name of Louis Vicat invented what we now call artificial cement. The Frenchman is also credited with inventing the “Vicat Needle”, a device that is still used today to determine the setting time for concrete and cement. In the 1970’s the Vicat Group of France purchased an existing cement company in Alabama called National Cement, Incorporated. The cement operations are still in Ragland, Alabama, shipping cement products via truck and rail all across the southeast. Greg George with the plant in Ragland needed a motor quickly Friday night. Piedmont Delivery Service is a not a 9 to 5 kind of business. When most companies would be closing Friday at 5:00pm, our driver was picking up the motor and heading to Alabama. As we promise same day delivery, we keep our word and by 10:00pm had the motor in hand. Greg was very pleased and we are too when we see our happy customers.

Have a nice weekend!

All my best,
