It’s So Much More Than Food

The colonial town of Smithfield, Virginia is home to The Smithfield Packing Company. It’s been around since the 1930’s and gained worldwide attention from producing the “Genuine Smithfield Ham” using a unique curing process. The company now has meat processing and packaging plants sprinkled around the world. From bacon, to pork chops, to lunchmeat and much more, you can find the Smithfield trademark. With production at capacity, a motor replacement calls for a RUSH delivery and that’s exactly where Piedmont Delivery Service stepped in. David Kimball with Smithfield was very happy to learn our driver could make the pick-up after 5:30pm and pull up to the plant in Virginia with motor in hand at 2:00am.
